Mountain View Hospital is looking for a Pharmacy Technician to join our team!

 

JOB SUMMARY:  

Accountable for the performance of pharmacy functions, including robotics, that serves clients in Idaho Falls and the surrounding communities.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. The incumbent prepares compounded or other pharmaceuticals at the direction of and under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist.  All duties performed by the intern/extern must be carried out in accordance with the rules and regulations set down by the Idaho State Board of Pharmacy.
  2. All pharmaceuticals prepared by the Pharmacy Technician/Intern/Extern must be checked by a licensed pharmacist prior to being dispensed for patient use.
  3. Accountable for performing clerical functions to support smooth administrative operation of the pharmacy. 
  4. Performs record maintenance, billing, phone reception and counter reception, and/or other clerical functions as directed.
  5. May run occasional errands as needed
  6. Must maintain confidentiality of patient records and employee information and use discretion.
  7. The employee is required to comply with all PCI standards and other company policies and procedures for payment card acceptance and security.

Qualifications

Education/Certification: Pharmacy Technician must be a high school graduate or hold equivalent certification. Pharmacy Intern/Extern must be a pharmacy student who is licensed by the Idaho State Board of Pharmacy. The Pharmacy Technician should hold certification from a pharmacy technician training program and have a current pharmacy technician registration.

 

Equipment/Technology: Possesses computer skills.  Must possess a valid Idaho driver’s license, meet minimum Idaho State auto insurance requirements, and have use of an automobile for transportation.

 

Language/Communication: Must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills in order to interact effectively with a range of professionals.

 

Mental Capabilities:  Must be able to maintain concentration for extended periods, since there is no tolerance for error in the work.

 

Interpersonal:  Must possess a pleasant phone and personal demeanor and a customer service attitude.  Must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills in order to interact effectively with a range of professionals, including health care providers. Works cooperatively with other members of the interdisciplinary health care team.
